Area = 52 cm2

Explanation:

First you have to extend the line. It gave you two rectangles.

To find out the area you have to add this two surfaces.

A1 = 2*10 = 20

A2 = 8*4 = 32

Whole area = A1 + A2 = 20 + 32 = 52 square cm.

You can do this other way around and you get the same answer.
