Step-by-step explanation:

For each exponent inside the radical, you will divide it over the root index. The root index is the small number to the left and above the radical symbol. So the root index is 6 in this case.

Divide each exponent over 6

3/6 = 1/2 is the final exponent for x

18/6 = 3 is the final exponent for y

which is how we get to x^(1/2)*y^3
