The first paragraph of a cover letter normally includes the job that they are applying for and where they learned about it.

A traditional cover letter contains three paragraphs. The first paragraph identifies that job that the writer is applying for and how they found out about the opening. The second paragraph is a summary of why they are qualified for the position. The third paragraph is a closing where there is a request for an interview and information as to how to contact the applicant.
