Just find the area of each face and add them together

ex.) #1- 2×8= 16 (that's one face) but since it's a prism there's 2 of them so multiply 16×2 to get 32 and that's 2 faces covered already.

Repeat with 7×2=14×2 = 28

Then, 7×8=56×2=112

So now you have 32, 28, and 112 so now you add those together to get 172. That's your surface area.
