How did The US Supreme Court show a change of interpretation in the case of brown V. board of education

Brown vs Board of Education (1955-1956) changed the interpretation of the US Supreme Court because before this case there were many interpretations in which discriminatory laws were allowed. In reality there was a discriminatory system still working (jim Crow's laws). Until the case was reheard in 1953, Chief Justice Warren was able to do something that his predecessor didn't do, bring all the justices to agree to support a unanimous decision declaring segregation in public schools unconstitutional.
