Explanation:

To put into vertex form you must first find the AOS of the function. -b/2a

a= 4, b= 3, c= -1

AOS= -3/2(4) = -3/8

The AOS is the x value in the vertex, to find the y value plug it back in for x.

y= 4(-3/8)^2+3(-3/8)-1

y= -125/16

So the vertex is (-3/8, -25/16), and turning this into vertex form would make it 4(x+3/8)^2-25/16
