Using Thomas Jefferson's words from the Declaration of Independence, what point of view did the founding fathers believe about people?

They stated that all men are created equal. The wanted men to be treated fairly I think. However, men are not so equal. Some men have more means, other have more talent for certain things, other men are blind or deaf from the moment they are born. So the founding fathers have an aspiration for society and they reflect that in the Declaration of Independence.
