Higher Inflation, usually, can be seen as an indication that the economy is not well balanced at the time.

Higher Inflation means that goods cost more and so banks and other institutions have to raise interest raise on consumers to continue to have a profit margin.

The Federal Reserve, or the central bank of a particular country, usually works to try and control inflation as much as possible.
