I do not have an answer but you could always take an explanations how to do it easier. Hope it helps :)

Explanation:

Example: solve √(2x+9) − 5 = 0

isolate the square root:

√(2x+9) = 5

square both sides:

2x+9 = 25

Now it should be easier to solve!

Move 9 to right:

2x = 25 − 9 = 16

Divide by 2:

x = 16/2 = 8

Answer:

x = 8

Check: √(2·8+9) − 5 = √(25) − 5 = 5 − 5 = 0
