who does Haessler say were the backbone of the movement ?why do you think working class women were not involved?​

Lucy Haessler said that the backbone of the suffrage movement was the middle-class women, these women were both Democrats and Republicans. In my opinion, even though the movement was mostly made up of college educated women, the working class did get involved but not with the same prominence since women workers had interests of their own. I believe that, at some point, the interests of the women who were property owners contradicted the interests of the proletarian women.
