Venus is the hottest world in the solar system. Although Venus is not the planet closest to the sun, its dense atmosphere traps heat in a runaway version of the greenhouse effect that warms Earth.

Venus is the hottest planet in the Solar System. It is so hot because it is covered in a thick layer of clouds. The thick clouds on Venus make the sky look orange. The sun's rays pass . through the clouds and the planet's surface warms up. The clouds on Venus stop the heat from escaping so the planet gets hotter and hotter.
