When you think about the reasons for drug use and addiction, do you think biological factors, psychological factors, or the social environment play the most important role? Explain you answer.

I think the social environment plays the biggest role. If you were to see something on instagram that was promoting drug use, you are more likely to want to use it.

Biological - Addiction is a chronic disorder with biological, psychological, social and environmental factors that all influence its development and maintenance. A statistic is given from the American Psychological Assiciation that about half the risk for addiction is genetic. Many times a person with addiction can change their social scene, change friends, go to therapy and counseling, enroll in 12 step programs, go to rehab, all with the best intentions and still relapse. This is due to the biological side of addiction.
