The American economy was positively affected by World War II.

Before World War II, the United States was still struggling to recover from the Great Depression which began in the 1930's. However, the need for military goods and resources helped America recover. Industries started to ramp up production, resulting in an increased number of workers. Along with this, millions of men joined/drafted into the military. This allowed American women and African American men to have more job opportunities. Overall, production increased, unemployment decreased, and America finally escaped the Great Depression due to World War II.
