Note that the angel created by the perpendicular lines = 90°

Set the equation:

x + x + 23 = 90

Simplify. Combine like terms.

2x + 23 = 90

Isolate the variable (x). Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS. First, subtract 23 from both sides

2x + 23 (-23) = 90 (-23)

2x = 63

Divide 2 from both sides

(2x)/2 = (63)/2

x = 63/2

x = 31.5

31.5° is your value for x.
