Explanation:

to go from a fraction to a percent divide the numerator by the denominator and multiply by 100.

3/4 = .75

.75 X 100 = 75%

if something happens 3 out of 4 times (3:4) then it will happen in 75 of 100 instances.

(3)/(4) = 75

or using the percentage above (in decimal form)

.75(100) = 75

These are just different methods for representing the same information.

1:4 ration is equal to
(1)/(4) fraction is equal to 25% (or .25)
