The main shark threats include shark finning and entanglement in commercial fishing gear. Many use sharks are sources of food and other materials, meaning the number is decreasing rapidly. Moreover, the giant fishing industry has impacts too. Sharks can get caught in the nets and trash we dump into the oceans, causing suffocation or starvation for the species. With the pollution we dispose of into the sea, many will develop more disease and illness and die out.
