PLEASE HELP!!!

I took a number, wrote a 9 to the right of it, and added the doubled original number to the result. The resulting sum is 633. What was the original number?

If x is the certain number, writing 9 to its right will give us 10x+9.... add 2x to it and we get 12x+9

12x+9 = 633

12x = 624

x= 52.
