hello!

In order to find the reciprocal of a number, we should just flop it over.

If we are asked to find the reciprocal of a fraction, then the numerator & denominator simply switch places.

Please consult the following formula for more details:-

\sf{The~reciprocal~of~a~is~\displaystyle(1)/(a) }}

\sf{The~reciprocal~of~\displaystyle(a)/(b) ~is~(b)/(a)}

According to the formula, the reciprocal of
\displaystyle(5)/(6) is:-

\bigstar{\boxed{\pmb{(6)/(5)}}}

note:-

Hope everything is clear; if you need any explanation/clarification, kindly let me know, and I will comment and/or edit my answer :)

Answer:

6/5 is the reciprocal of 5/6

Explanation:

The reciprocal of a number is its multiplicative inverse. That is, the product of the number and its reciprocal is 1, the multiplicative identity element.

For a fraction, the reciprocal is the fraction with numerator and denominator interchanged. That is, the reciprocal of 5/6 is 6/5.

You can check that this is the multiplicative inverse by multiplying it by 5/6:

5/6 × 6/5 = (5×6)/(6×5) = 30/30 = 1 . . . . the multiplicative identity element
