You would upstream, as in North, and if you’d go downstream it’d be South!

Answer: South. Hiking upstream in the longest river in the world which is the Nile River totaling approximately 6650km the hikers has to move towards the south.

River Nile has a south to north direction which starts from Lake Victoria and ends in the Mediterranean Sea.

Hiking upstream in the Nile River means that the person is moving towards the south.

Initially, the individual will encounter flat terrain, but as they move upstream they will encounter a more rugged terrain, until they finally reach Lake Victoria which is the start of the river.
