Which statement best describes the lives of northern an southern soldiers during the civil war?

Northern soldiers were well supplied; Southern soldiers were not.While this seems to be mainly the case, at least for rations, disease took a heavy toll of about 400,000 out of the total 560,000 who died in the war. Unsanitary conditions didn't help in the spread of disease in the troops, nor did poor shelter and poor food.
