In the 1960s, Dr. King and other SCLC leaders became increasingly critical of U.S. foreign policy. What is King referring to when he points out that our own nation was "using massive doses of violence to solve its problems?"

Matin Luther King states with his phrase that "our own nation was using massive doses of violence to solve their problems" to the Vietnam War, in his speech professed in 1967 known as "Beyond Vietnam: A time to break silence".

King, criticizes poverty, racism and militarism within it, but he won enemies by criticizing the United States so openly in the Vietnam War.
