there are 1000 mL in 1 Liter.

0.5 L is then just 500 mL, half of 1000 mL.

then she uses 350mL, so what's left is 500 - 350 = 150 mL.

how many Liters is that? 150/1000 = 15/100 = 0.15 Liters.
