The jealous Kamba, neighbouring hunters, chopped the fig tree because they were jealous of Neiterkob's relationship with Enkai and the gift of the Maasai cattle. Even after having the fig tree cut, the Maasai tribe is still connected with Enkai through their cattle. While they still have their cattle, they will feel that bond with their sky god.

Enkai lives now at the top of Mount Kenya and the Maasai herd the cattle in the plains and they are connected through the cattle
