Part 1

Clockwise torque is due to force applied at right end

So we will have


\tau = r * F


\tau = 4(600)


\tau = 2,400 Nm

Part b)

Since we can see that at both sides the applied force will exert same torque on the rod so it is in balanced condition

So the rod will not rotate and remains in equilibrium

It is balanced and will not rotate.

Part c)

Counterclockwise torque is given as


\tau = r * F


\tau = 2(1200)


\tau = 2,400 Nm
