Although you did not mention the book to which this question refers, Beverly Daniel Tatum addresses the need for books that talk about race, ethnicity and racism, as our society is very racist, even with all the social evolution that we are going through. In relation to this statement, I agree with Tatum, on the need for these types of books, as we are moving towards the generation of a population increasingly intolerant and repulsive in terms of equality between races and respect between ethnic groups.
