The Great Revolution was a conflict between those in favor of parliamentary government and King James II, who desired absolute power. The Bill of Rights, which detailed particular rights for individuals and maintained that monarchy should operate with parliament's agreement, was created as a result, limiting the king's uncontrolled power.
