the total number of student tickets and senior citizen tickets sold. The number of
student tickets sold was three times that of senior citizen tickets. 142 more student
tickets than senior citizen tickets were sold. How many adult tickets were sold?

Let Number of senior citizen tickets

sold = x

Number of students tickets sold = 3.x

Number of adult tickets sold = 4 x 3x

= 12x

+ 3x – x = 142

2 x = 142

142 == 2

. Number adult tickets sold

= 12x

= 12 x 71

= 852
