Chapter 9 To Kill a mockingbird At the end of the chapter, why did Scout want to hear his words?

She didn’t purposely want to hear his words per say. She accidentally overheard. And when Atticus saw she was there he purposely discussed the trial with Jack so she could hear Atticus’s side of the story and so she knows the reason he took the case. I’m not quite sure if I got your answer correct but I did my best.

Answer: It was very happy and innocent when the kids were obsessed with boo. but in the 9th chapter innocence was taken when thomas was on trial for r*** and it was atticus (there father) who took the case. hope this helps. :0
