Anti-Semitism, especially Nazi Germany provoked waves of hate towards the members of Jewish fate. It escalated during the Kristallnacht, after which the Jews were prosecuted across Germany, but even some neighboring countries. During the Holocaust millions of Jews were sent to concentration camps, where most of them died. It was a crime that world has never seen before. On the other side, when the war ended the solution was to be found. Therefore, United Nations decided to create a home for remaining Jews, which was the small favor for all the monstrosity they had to went through.

Step-by-step explanation:

Anti-Semitism that spread in Europe in the first half of 20th Century was very much a product of economical crisis that happened after WW1. Still, the treatment that Jews had in Nazi Germany was something that never happened in history. Massive killing of Jews in WW2 led to creation of a solution for the survivors. It was decided to create a home for remaining Jews in their homeland.
