While playing volleyball, the teams goal on defense should be to keep the ball from touching the ground on their side. Another goal of defense is to return the ball back to the other team, in hopes of scoring a point. On offense the goal of the team is to score a point by hitting the ball back over the net and having the ball touch the ground inside the lines.
