100 meters = 4seconds

Since we want to know the speed in metres per second, we will say;

X meters = 1second

Equating both

100 meters = 4seconds

X meters = 1seconds

Cross multiply

4×X = 200×1

4X = 200

Divide both sides by 4

4X/4 = 200/4

X= 50

Hence the of the car in meter per seconds is 50meters per second
