Some Reform, Reconstructionist, and Conservative Jews use the word temple. The Greek word house of God is employed in English (German, French and most Romance languages) to hide the preceding potentialities.

Hope it helps!

Technically, there’s no difference between a synagogue or temple. A place a worship can be called a synagogue, temple, or shul. You may also see “Congregation” used in the name of a synagogue.
