What does the quote “If you make a mistake and do not correct it, this is called a mistake” by Confucius mean?

It means that your in the wrong by not doing anything to change it or make it better. If one were to make a mistake but do something to correct their actions its no longer a mistake it then becomes a learned lesson of what works and what doesnt.
