An ecological succession is a gradual change in the biotic community of the ecosystem with respect to changes in the non living factors and time until the ecosystem attains stability. A succession can occur due to natural as well as non natural or man made events. In non natural or man made events includes forests fires, nuclear and bomb explosion. These events will result in destruction of the ecosystem and with time and availability of suitable environmental factors species will colonized in the destructed area. This will promote succession in the destructed area.
