Old Woman Swamp helps us understand Doodle’s. He is the old woman’s child who loves nature. The swamp is where he bonded with his brother. He learned to walk here and spent a lot of time here. He represents hope, happiness, peace,the future. It is sort of a safe haven where the brothers can just be themselves.
