Five different types of heterotrophs are carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, scavengers, and detritivores.

Carnivores eat the meat of other animals. Example: Bear

Herbivores eat vegetation. Example: Deer

Omnivores eat a combination of both meat and vegetation. Example: Humans

Scavengers eat things left behind by carnivores and herbivores. Example: Raccoon

Detritivores eat small bits of organic matter, such as soil. Example: Worms

Edit: If you'd rather substitute one of those for a decomposer, Decomposers break down dead or decaying organisms. Example: Mushroom, or fungi.
