Was Poe rich, famous, and happy during his lifetime-or not? How do you think

this affected the type of stories he wrote?

Poe was not rich or famous, and most likely not very happy. A lot of his family died, like his wife, over TB. It made him write dark poems and stories. A good example is of Annabel Lee. It was inspired by the death of his wife who had died two years prior.
