Solve the following a/5 + 3=8

Answer: a = 1

You want the letters on the left and all numbers on the right. First you must get rid of the three so to get rid of it you must take it away (a/5=8-3). = a/5=5. Then you want to have the a by itself and so divide by 5. (a=1)
