1. What will happen to the current if the voltage is decreased by one half while the

resistance is held constant? State the relationship of voltage and current based

Answer: Current will reduce by half

Explanation:

The formula for Current is;

Current = Voltage/ Resistance

Say for instance that Voltage is 5 volts and Resistance is 2 ohms. Current will be;

= 5/2

= 2.5 amps

If Voltage is decreased by one half to 2.5 while resistance is held constant, current becomes;

= 2.5/2

= 1.25 amps

Current went from 2.5 to 1.25 amps.

This shows that current will reduce by half if the voltage is decreased by one half while the resistance is held constant.
