The way the information is presented will determine how the speaker/author wants someone to feel or think. For instance if you are talking about a particular thing you did over the weekend, you more than likely would talk about it differently to a friend as opposed to an aunt and even differently if it were your boss. All of the things you say can be accurate , but you make strategic choices about which details to include or not include based on the in your discussion.
