Two lines, E and F, are represented by the equations given below.

Line E: 5x + 5y = 40
Line F: x + y = 8

Which statement is true about the solution to the set of equations?

It is (40, 8).

It is (8, 40).

Answer:

There are infinitely many solution

Explanation:

If we simplify the line E by dividing everything by 5 we get Line F :

5x+5y = 40

x + y = 8 = Line F

As the lines are the same they will have infinite solutions as it can be anywhere on one line will be the same on the other.

Hope this helped and have a good day
