War Eagle spied 1428 antelope and wildebeests grazing on the savannah. If the ratio of antelope to wildebeests was 9 to 5, how many antelope were there? (Answer is 918 but idk how to solve it.....)

9:5 = 1428:x

ratios can also be written as fractions, so

9/5 = 1428/x

solve for x

9/5 × x = 1428

x = 1428 / (9/5)

x = 918
