(m) is slope

(b) is y intercept

we can apply our slope into the formula

y=-3/2x+b

Now we can replace (y) with the (y) from the ordered pair they gave us (4, 10), and replace the (x) with the (x) from the ordered pair they gave us

(4, 10)

10=-3/2(4)+b

Now solve

10=-6+b

Add 6 to each side

16=b

Now we we put both our slope and intercept into the formula.


y = ( - 3)/(2) x + 16
