Two base angles of an isosceles triangle measure (3x + 2) and (5x - 30) degrees. How many degrees are in the third angle of the triangle?

Thus:


3x+2=5x-30

Moving on, there is a rule in geometry that states that the sum of all angles in triangles is equal to 180, no matter what.

All that has to be done is just multiply 50 by 2, add y in for our third angle, and set that equal to 180.
