3y = - 2x + 8 ( divide all terms by 3 )

with slope m = -
(2)/(3)

Parallel lines have equal slopes , thus

slope of parallel line = -
(2)/(3)

3y = -2x + 8

y = (-2/3)x + 8/3

m = (-2/3)

even tho brandon did not divide 8 by 3, you were just supposed to find the slope of the line parallel to that line so for the most part, he is correct for the way he got his answer
