It takes Frank 2 hours to build a fence. It takes Tom 9 hours to build the same fence. How long would it take to build the fence if Frank and Tom built the fence together?

You would have to add 2 and 9 and then divide by 2. (Find the average of the two)

2 + 9 = 11

11 / 2 = 5.5

So if you add their times then divide you receive and average of five and a half hours.
