Explain the difference between 2(7x-4) and (7x-4)^2

Answer:

2(7x-4) = 7x(2)-4(2) = 14x-8

but

(7x-4)^2 = (7x-4) (7x-4)

2(7x-4) is the equation being multiplied by two and (7x-4)^2 is the equation being multiplied by itself twice
