African slaves compared to South America, the West Indies and Brazil's 10.2 million.

The main reason for bringing African Slaves instead of Native slaves from South America or even North America is because, they were susceptible to diseases brought by the Settlers, Africa was already used to these diseases so they were easy to bring. Furthermore, an example of this is the tragic story of Darth Plaguis the wise *AHEM* I mean pocahauntus who was brought to England on a ship but died due to disease on that ship.
