A food chain follows one path of energy and materials between species. Food webs show how plants and animals are connected in many ways to help them survive

Example: Nectar (flowers) ——> butterflies ——> small birds ——>foxes

FOOD WEBS show how plants and animals are connected in many ways to help them all survive. FOOD CHAINS follow just one path of energy as animals find food.

eg: A hawk eats a snake, which has eaten a frog, which has eaten a grasshopper, which has eaten grass.
