Why were Americans careful to limit the power of
their central government after the Revolution?

Early Americans were very careful when they created their government after the revolution because they did not want to have another Monarchy, or another king with too much power. They wanted to make sure that no part of the new government could ever turn into a monarchy or have too much power, so they created the separation of powers.
